This week, the 40th edition of Gitex brought people together face to face after months of virtual meetings, to reconnect those in the technology community and reinvigorate Dubai's conference and exhibitions calendar. With a noticeably smaller visitor number this year, the technologies on display at Gitex indicate the continued domination of the virtual world.
Mena startups raised $37 million in November

Startups in the Mena region raised $37 million in November, reflecting the caution investors had earlier this year. Logistics and e-commerce startups accounted for the bulk of investments, a sign of the unstoppable growth of online shopping.
 
Although the pandemic has brought on unprecedented challenges and affected people all over the world, if looked at closely, there are numerous opportunities that entrepreneurs and corporations could perhaps capitalise upon. Dr. Vikas Nand Kumar Batheja, co-founder and director of Capital College, explains where Mena's next wave of innovation will come from.
