Several female-focused, tech-enabled startups have emerged in Mena, keen to provide women with products and services related to their health. But while interest has been gathering pace, there is still a large gap in terms of financing allocated to femtech startups.
The adoption of alternative data has been growing in the past few years and more so in 2020, and there's no doubt that it has proved itself to be quite powerful. That's why there is a need to harness the power of alternative data to benefit both investors and the financial system at large while taking risks into account.
In an era where mobile phone payments have gone from a cool experience to now being adopted by smart watches, customers are less likely to look for a loyalty card in their wallets. Omar Ebeid, founder and CEO of Egypt-based Zeal App, an online payment and loyalty platform, thinks integrating loyalty with payments can win back customers.
