After exiting his venture, Nader Sabry has gone onto become a growth hacking expert, penning two books on the subject and advising startups and government on innovation and growth. Interest in cryptocurrencies has spiked over this past year, thanks to Bitcoin's soaring valuation. User sign-up on BitOasis's own platform rose by 400 per cent in the first quarter of this year, compared to Q4 in 2020. According to Ola Doudin, co-founder of BitOasis, the region is now "having its crypto moment".

Mena startups raised $175 million in April 2021

Growth in investment continued in April as 44 startups across Mena raised more than $175 million last month, up $5 million from March. For the first time, Saudi Arabia topped the list in terms of number and value of startup investments.

This year, the UAE established a federal circular economy council to generate new economic opportunities, reduce the use of natural resources and protect the environment.
