Interest in e-scooter startups regionally, and in the UAE was high prior to the Coronavirus pandemic, but as lockdown kept people stuck indoors, the fate of these micro-mobility startups seemed numbered. While the number of trips has now picked up across the region as lockdown measures are lifted, the B2C side of micro-mobility is still struggling.
Step Conference has concluded its first online edition this week, Step Anywhere, where discussions revolved primarily around the COVID-19 pandemic, tackling trends and opportunities, and an outlook for the future post-crisis from the perspective of investors, entrepreneurs and governments. The event also shed light on diverse emerging industries such as agritech, proptech, edtech and fintech among others.
As restrictions across Dubai gradually ease and businesses get back to normal operations, Bayut, one of the region's largest real estate portals, and a few of the brokerages in Dubai have looked back on this challenging period and shared their experiences and insights. Here are some of the lessons the team at the company learned during this pandemic.
